So Voice Over IP... And go..
There are a lot of misconceptions about VoIp and there are a lot of companies that are selling you a great price for a great service... That's what sales is all about. The truth of the matter is that all VoIp is, is another computer on your network. Now that is over simplifying it because there is a lot that goes into a VoIp system, but I am here to tell you the cost of ownership is VERY LOW!
THE COST
So let's take a small system for 10 users. The cost is right around $5,000 in hardware. That includes setting it up too.. The phone company will sell you a system with free equipment, but its the monthly charge and contract they get you to sign that is the real sad part. Let's say they make you sign a 3 year contract at $300/mo fee for the system, 4 lines, and long distance is a per minute charge. (They might even cap your local minute usage too, watch for that.) If you do the simple math that's $10,800.
Reverse that process and lets say you are paying $125/mo in phone services fees (long distance is always more) that would equate to $4500 in 3 years. So take that away from the $10,800 and you get $6300 to spend on your phone system . So I saved you $1300 that we could now spend on something else.
Yes I realize that only looks like I saved you 433 for the first year, but you aren't buying a new phone system every year.... After 3 years you just got to keep that whole lotta cash that you would be wasting on the same equipment you could have bought up front.
THE FEATURES
So there are a lot of features that you get out of a VoIp system that many don't take advantage of. Like collaboration. Owned systems give small companies full control over their entire system from the comfort of a web browser. That means you can install the phone right on your laptop or home desktop and look like you are at your office all the time. Voicemail sent to your email as soon as the message has been left is the greatest capability that a VoIp system offers. Throw in some instant messaging capabilites on top of this kind of infrastructure and your company is looking mighty powerful for just 10 employees.
You can virtually configure a good system to handle your calls too. Create a virtual receptionist that will help direct calls while you are on the phone and too busy as well as give callers the option to leave messages at anytime to anyone. You can even setup the system to realize you have been away from your computer long enough to forward your phone calls to your cell phone. Forget to do it from the office, no problem pull up the info on your cell phone and send it to your co worker so you can meet with a new client.
Embrace the change in technology and let us help you configure a system that won't hurt your pocket book and one that will put you on the frontline of new technology.
